Dr. Ashley Uy has held many different roles in the health and wellness industry. She began her journey by learning from physical therapists who treated her injuries as a competitive distance track athlete. She spent several years working in physical therapy clinics and fitness gyms throughout southern California. At those facilities, she supported physical therapists with rehabilitating injured patients and created programs for her own clients to achieve their personal and athletic goals as a certified personal trainer (CPT) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). During her undergraduate schooling at San Diego State University, Dr. Ashley transitioned her academic focus to health psychology and behavior change. She was mentored in various behavior change techniques including Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Dr. Ashley's professional accomplishments include helping organizations across the United States improve the health of their employees through behavioral coaching techniques via telemedicine. Dr. Ashley has supported hundreds of individuals lower their overall health risk as well as training other professional coaches to do the same. She has been an invited speaker on behavior change and Motivational Interviewing in Healthcare at multiple places including a corporate wellness department in Silicon Valley and at an IOP treatment center in San Diego. During this time, she obtained her Masters of Science (MS) in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Science from California University of Pennsylvania. During her master's program, she earned her Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM-CES) certification to help individuals optimize their movement and posture. Her cumulative experiences as well as the opportunities to impact the health of those suffering from musculoskeletal disease have lead her to a career path in chiropractic.
Dr. Ashley graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with magna cum laude honors, as salutatorian of her class, and is a member of the Pi Tau Delta Chiropractic Honors Society. She was awarded the prestigious Clinical Excellence Award, Fellowship Award, and Presidential Scholar Award.
Dr. Ashley provides treatment using traditional Diversified chiropractic adjustments, Thompson Drop, and/or Activator techniques. She is also trained in a variety of myofascial release techniques, including Active Release Technique (ART), IASTM, and Fascial Movement Taping. She enjoys helping her patients achieve their health goals by working together to improve their biomechanics, nutrition, and other lifestyle factors that can impact their wellbeing.
When Dr. Ashley is not in the office, she enjoys surfing, yoga, weight lifting, and chasing after her Golden Retrievers, Montie and C.J.
